BEST TIME TO TRAVEL : Mauritius is a year-round destination. The island is blessed with a mild tropical climate with average temperatures varying between 20°C and 32°C. The western and northern regions are warmer and relatively drier than the east and the south.


VISAS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS : You must have a valid passport. No visa is required for a stay of up to 60 days for tourism or 90 days for business purposes. Passports must be valid for six months after period of intended stay.


CUSTOMS & FOREIGN CURRENCIES : Homosexuality is illegal in Mauritius. Penalties for drug trafficking and use are severe, and any personal medicinal drugs should be covered by a prescription. There are no restrictions on foreign currency, traveler’s cheques and other banking instruments.


TRAVEL HEALTH : No vaccination certificates are required for entry into Mauritius, unless travelling from a country infected by yellow fever or where yellow fever is classified as endemic. Stonefish stings are uncommon but can be fatal in some cases.

WHAT TO CARRY : Pack lightweight casual wear and beach wear. Take a lightweight puuloverr for the evenings, especially in the cooler season. Pack suntan lotion, sunglasses and rubber sole shoes to protect you from the coral on the beach. Warmer clothing is also advisable for evenings. Don’t forget to pack a raincoat.
